(Washington DC – July 5, 2005) … Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal fell at his home and broke his collarbone last week according to sources who spoke to SIA news on condition of anonymity.
There was no official statement on the incident which may prevent the minister from performing his duties. Saud Al-Faisal has been the Saudi foreign minister since 1975, and is known for his sexist beliefs towards women and his hatred for the Shia Arab minority.
Al- Faisal, a graduate of Princeton University, has been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for several years, which contributed to his fall.
Al-Faisal’s sister Haifa is the wife of recently-resigned Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Bandar Bin Sultan.
The United States State Department was completely unaware of this incident. “We know nothing about that” the State department said. The Saudi Embassy in Washington DC refused to comment on the report.
