Washington DC - Yemeni rebels (the Houthis) have aired a YouTube video showing Saudi marines they recently captured in the ongoing fighting they have been engaging in with Saudi forces for five weeks.
The video showed three Saudi marines who were not named but appeared injured and receiving treatment. The soldiers thanked the Houthis for their good treatment and prayed for a quick return home, they said.
The video is the second aired by the Houthis showing captured Saudi soldiers.
The conflict between the Houthi rebels and Saudi forces ignited five weeks ago and appeared to have reached a stalemate. The conflict has attracted very little international attention despite Saudi and Yemeni charges that the rebels are supported by Iran, a charge it and the Houthis deny.
